Early Bird Sunday School Class – 9:15am in Room 103
The “Early Bird Class” is an adult class that normally follows the Cokesbury Adult Bible Studies. This is a “Mighty Prayer Warrior Group” anyone would love to be a part of!
Cornerstone Sunday School Class – 9:15am in Room 102
The Cornerstone Class is an adult Sunday School class that uses material from Seedbed Publishers as well as other pertinent studies that are biblically founded and help guide our daily lives to be focused on becoming more like Jesus Christ.
Mosaic Sunday School Class – 9:15am in Room 201
The Mosaic Sunday School class represents an adult group of broken pieces (individuals) that come together to make something whole. That “something” is Christ in each of us. Our group is made up of anyone who is searching for a place to belong. Our focus this season will be a book entitled, “Invitation”. This Bible study comes to us from Seedbed, which provides curriculum for The Global Methodist Church. Whether you are new to the faith or not, this is an opportunity to learn more about our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Unity Sunday School Class – 9:15am in Coom 108
This class is a group of mostly older adults, but all ages are welcome. We have around 20 to 30 folks most Sundays with biblically supported lessons about how we as Christians live out our faith in today’s world. These lessons are given by a rotating group of teachers. We take an offering each week from which we give out funds to organizations and the church when worthy needs arise. We also tend to the needs of our shut-ins and those in our class who are temporarily homebound. We also like to have fun and usually have several social events throughout the year.
Brown Bag Bible Study – Room 102
This is an in-depth, Adult bible study on various books of the Bible. It meets every Monday from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Bring a sack lunch and join us as we journey through the Bible. Contact the church office or Jody Wallin if you have an interest or need more information. This service is free of charge.
Children
The children’s ministry
First Methodist focuses on nurturing the whole child in the faith journey. It serves infants through 5th grade, ensuring they learn the basics of the Christian faith in ways that support their overall development. Each age group encounters God’s love through age-appropriate relationships, experiences, choices, and scriptures, allowing children to develop their identity and spiritual being. We want each child to feel valued and supported in their growth. Contact our Children’s Pastor, Janice Wilson for more information.
Children’s Nursery starts at 9am in Room 6 of the Children’s Center
Children’s Sunday School starts at 9:15am in Room 204 (K-5)
Youth
The youth ministry
First Methodist is all about nurturing one’s spiritual growth as they navigate their adolescent years. Being a teenager can be challenging, and is often filled with lots of questions, including ones about faith! Our goal is to create healthy space for students to ask their questions, while also maintaining a foundation of biblical truth. We believe in the importance of church community, which is why our students gather weekly for prayer, worship, biblical teaching, games and fellowship. We believe in a God who loves His creation, it is our hope that every teenager will know and be known by the God who loves them more than they can imagine. Contact our Interim Youth Pastor, Rev. Cynthia Moss for more information.
Youth Sunday School starts at 9:15am in the Student Ministry Center (Boat House)
